It was the middle of winter, a long time since I had played in the garden, and I longed for the beauty of flowers. So, the artist in me said, "There shall be flowers aplenty!" And so there are, indeed.

 "Bleeding Heart" Watercolor
A vase of freshly cut Bleeding Heart flowers and leaves demanded to be rendered in watercolor. Using a wet-in-wet technique for the first layer created a lovely diffuse background.

 Coral Bells $44.95
Sprigs of pressed coral bells from my garden were arranged in the fiber slurry while it was still in the screen mold. I continued pressing the water out of the slurry to make the paper. The delicate flowers made a lovely piece. "Coral Bells" is available only as an 11" x 14" Fine Art Print.

A vase of azaleas and other shrub flowers overflowing with their exuberance demanded to be captured on paper in watercolor.
